So many of us are often thinking of the past or projecting into the future, but being in the moment is where you have the power to guide your destiny.

In this episode of my 'Rituals' series, I speak with Santa Barbara TV news reporter Tracy Lehr, of KEYT News.  In order for her to do her job of reporting the news on a tight deadline, Lehr says a key to her success on the job is being in the moment.

The California Assembly recently recognized Lehr as 'Woman of the Year' for her continuous coverage of the two disasters that hit the Santa Barbara area in the Winter of 2018, the Thomas Fire followed by the 1/9 Montecito Debris Flow. Lehr shares how one photographer's single word of HOPE helped her to regain composure after starting to cry on camera in the time following the January 9th mudslides.

Lehr explains what it's like to be a news reporter, being assigned stories with little notices and expected to get them on TV sometimes in as little as 30 minutes.  She also shares some tips for what it takes to be a good reporter.

Tracy is also a big fan of essential oils, especially grapefruit and (her new fav) lime. So, these are the recommended scents for this episode to enhance your listening experience. (I'll help you get set up with your pure essential oils & diffuser at AromaThrive.com)
